WHAT DOES BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED MEAN???
This was a common and great question from last year. Here are the guidelines we use, and ask that you use to determine where your junior golf should be placed.
Beginning Golfers: Little to no experience on the golf course. New golfers up to golfers still working on basic fundamentals such as grip and stance. Would need a lot of supervision on the golf course. Cannot play 3 or 4 holes in 60 minutes if playing every shot out.
Intermediate Golfer: Has grasp of swing fundamentals such as grip and stance. Basic knowledge of course etiquette and rules. Hits the ball far more often than misses it. Could play 3 or 4 holes in 60 minutes with only light supervision.
Advanced Golfer: Good understanding of swing basics. Strong understanding of safety, etiquette and rules of the game. Needs no real supervision on the golf course. Can play 9 holes in under 2 hours.
We ask that you use best judgment and consider the other junior golfers in the class before placing your junior in one of these sections.
If you need assistance in determining the best class for your junior golfer, the professional staff will be happy to help.

This event is followed by a cookout and awards presentation.
JUNIOR CERTIFICATION
If a junior golfer can pass a written test on rules and etiquette, as well as a playing test hosted by a golf professional, that junior golfer will be granted expanded access to golf at RGCC. Both tests can be scheduled with the Golf Professionals in the Golf Shop. There is no cost to be certified. |
